HISTORY
Mill Run is the culmination of multiple efforts, starting with the
original developer
Robert T. Taggart
(Taggart, Marryott,
Reardon) who to this day is the President of the Mill Run Owners
Association that over sees that day to day operations for the +/- 80
owners that comprise the Association members.
Starting in 1985, Mill Run took several meetings with and involvement
from many local groups, civic associations and two City administrations
(Hilliard
and
Columbus).
In 1985, the City of Columbus announced that it would soon be widening
the Fishinger Boulevard bridge over the Scioto River. Bob Taggart
quickly researched for any land opportunities that would benefit from
the widening of the Fishinger Bridge. What he found was a 350 acre
parcel that had tremendous freeway frontage, quick, easy access to the
Columbus Outerbelt.
TODAY
Mill Run is enjoying the efforts of the Mill Run Owner’s Association and
the City Hilliard’s Mayor Schonhardt’s vision. The newly opened
Trueman Boulevard and soon to be
completed
Britton Parkway
extension bolster
the ease of access to Mill Run.
Site Maintenance
handles all of the landscaping duties of the 30’ right of ways along all
road ways and the miles of bike path that surround the beautiful ponds
that keep one of Ohio’s largest private irrigation systems that boasts a
mitigation wetland. They also manage the large populations of Canadian
Geese that bed down around Mill Run’s ponds in early spring.
New retailers entering Mill Run have brought new life to the strong
consumer base that shops Mill Run everyday.
Since Mill Run’s grand opening,
Bob Taggart of
Taggart Management & Real Estate Services’ focus has been
the revitalization of Mill Run especially after the loss of Kmart, Big
Bear Plus and Gates McDonald.
The Kroger Co.
which plans to open a new +/- 70,000 square foot grocery store in the
former Big Bear Plus in the Market at Mill Run.

kids club, group fitness and spinning classes on a mezzanine overlooking
the circuit training and plentiful aerobic equipment in part of the
former Big Bear and small shop space at the corner overlooking
Kenneth’s
Hair Design Group.
United Art & Education
has opened an 18,000 square foot super store in the former Big Bear
Garden Center with over 10,000 arts, crafts and education materials.
Target
has opened it’s new prototype store in tandem with
Home Depot just North of Cemetery
Road.
The former Kmart building
is currently being marketed to several well know retailers to join the
fray and enjoy the success of Mil Run’s existing retailers:
Lowe’s,
Garden Ridge,
Dave & Buster’s, and
Cinemark Movies 12 which soon will
be transformed into a
